South Florida PBS is seeking an innovative executive to lead efforts to identify, develop and sign sponsorships from new revenue sources that drive new business revenue and business opportunities in support of the mission of South Florida PBS.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and 5-8 years of experience working in fundraising. Must have demonstrated success in production fundraising. Television broadcast/digital media knowledge is a plus. History of building strategic partnerships with community groups and content organizations. Must be able to set goals. Excellent presentation, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to present and convey complex ideas and issues clearly and coherently. Energy, enthusiasm and desire to work hard and achieve ambitious targets.

Research Manager & Campaign Strategist

As an integral part of the Development Division this position contributes to the division success by proactively and independently identifying, researching and analyzing prospects for major gift and campaign solicitations providing the foundation for effective identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of South Florida PBS prospects, members, donors, family foundations and community friends.  This research and analysis includes gleaning, coordinating and producing biographical, financial and philanthropic information as it relates to current, lapsed and potential donors who have the propensity and capacity to support major gifts and capital campaign initiatives.  Responsible for organizing detailed research, then writing comprehensive reports, as well as succinct profiles along with suggested strategies to engage and grow ongoing constituent involvement and investment in South Florida PBS. 

Bachelor’s degree or additional formalized training in business administration/fundraising equivalent required.  Three to five years of experience in related development research.  Considerable knowledge of English, including grammar, spelling, and excellent writing skills.  Fluent in English and Spanish preferred.  Must have proven ability to utilize research tools and be proficient in effective donor/prospect research including but not limited to iWave, Lexis-Nexis, and Research Point. Ability to compose effective research reports, letters, proposals, donor profiles and biographies is a must. Excellent keyboarding/computer skills required with two to three years of experience in RENXT, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Vice President, Development  - North

South Florida PBS is seeking an innovative fundraising professional to provide leadership, direction, and coordination for a comprehensive fundraising program primarily responsible for cultivating and soliciting of capital and endowment gifts through strategic planning, development and solicitation of major gifts and donations in Palm Beach county and surrounding areas. This position, part of the executive management team, will position South Florida PBS as a top community partner for public media in South Florida.  

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of six years experience in the area of fund development with demonstrated success in prospecting, cultivation, and solicitation of gifts. Specific experience and knowledge in the areas of management, major donor funding, donor cultivation event, special events, membership systems, annual giving programs, campaign management, corporate support programs, foundation funding, and planned giving.  Public television experience preferred. Excellent oral and written communications skills.  Basic accounting skills. Participates in corporate planning and financial forecasting.

Freelance Production Opportunities

Freelance Videographers/Editors needed for various South Florida PBS productions.  Seeking candidates with expertise in storytelling through video.  Successful candidates will have experience in field production, with strong competence in lighting and audio.  Must be able to multitask, problem-solve, and manage deadlines.   High proficiency in Final Cut X required.  Knowledge of Avid and Adobe Premiere a plus.  Must be reliable, organized, self-motivated, and willing to work in a collaborative team environment.

Multi Media Communications & Outreach Specialist

Responsible for assisting with the organization, planning & execution of multi-media communications, public relations campaigns & station outreach events.  Works with team members to market & promote South Florida PBS’s program services through multi media platforms including social media & other emerging opportunities.  Creates content for South Florida PBS blogs & social media platforms in support of events, programs & marketing strategies.  Produces station video interstitials as needed/requested.  Interacts with clients, contacts, committee boards & logistic providers throughout the coordination of the events. 

High school graduate or equivalent. College graduate with course work in Public Relations or Journalism preferred. Minimum one to two years’ experience in public relations & event coordination.  Ability to write concisely & creatively.  Computer literate with experience using social media platforms.

Freelance Account Executive

South Florida PBS seeks experienced Account Executive to sell national PR services such as corporate video productions, media relations support, radio services, online and all media distribution to support PR firms and Corporate Communications. Knowledge of news production, B-roll distribution, Satellite Media Tours, will be extremely helpful for this position to be successful. Position collaborates within the sales team, and provides sound counsel and recommendations to clients. You will offer PR services to help drive solutions for clients, and revenue for the company.

The candidate will be responsible for reaching out and making capabilities presentations to PR firms and companies who will use our services. You are a closer of business, and will be responsible for reaching sales targets and goals each month.

The successful candidate is entrepreneurial, resourceful, tenacious, and has a strong understanding of traditional and non-traditional PR tactics and the media landscape; 3-6 years in PR agency experience with clients preferred. We are looking for a candidate with:
• Sales experience with a good consultative selling style;
• Proven success in building relationships and driving sales results;
• Strong presentation skills, with experience working directly with clients and actively participating in client meetings;
• Collaborative spirit, results driven with the ability to manage multiple priorities;
• High energy.

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

South Florida PBS provides students with an opportunity to combine work experience and professional development to enhance their formal education. Our program serves to reinforce and strengthen the students' personal values and career objectives through an improved understanding of themselves and the work environment. We provide practical work experience to balance the students' theoretical training and allow students to meet and learn from professionals in the field and develop a network of contacts. Areas of openings include, but are not limited to: Accounting, Engineering, Graphic Design, Information Technology, Interactive Media, Marketing, Production, and Programming.

To be considered for an internship students must be enrolled in college/university in which their coursework requires internship hours. Students must also provide documentation from their school stating that they will be receiving credit for their time spent interning at South Florida PBS.
