South Florida PBS is seeking an innovative executive to lead efforts to identify, develop and sign sponsorships from new revenue sources that drive new business revenue and business opportunities in support of the mission of South Florida PBS.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and 5-8 years of experience working in fundraising. Must have demonstrated success in production fundraising. Television broadcast/digital media knowledge is a plus. History of building strategic partnerships with community groups and content organizations. Must be able to set goals. Excellent presentation, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to present and convey complex ideas and issues clearly and coherently. Energy, enthusiasm and desire to work hard and achieve ambitious targets.

Freelance Production Opportunities

Freelance Videographers/Editors needed for various South Florida PBS productions.  Seeking candidates with expertise in storytelling through video.  Successful candidates will have experience in field production, with strong competence in lighting and audio.  Must be able to multitask, problem-solve, and manage deadlines.   High proficiency in Final Cut X required.  Knowledge of Avid and Adobe Premiere a plus.  Must be reliable, organized, self-motivated, and willing to work in a collaborative team environment.

Vice President, Development  - North

South Florida PBS is seeking an innovative fundraising professional to provide leadership, direction, and coordination for a comprehensive fundraising program primarily responsible for cultivating and soliciting of capital and endowment gifts through strategic planning, development and solicitation of major gifts and donations in Palm Beach county and surrounding areas. This position, part of the executive management team, will position South Florida PBS as a top community partner for public media in South Florida.  

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of six years experience in the area of fund development with demonstrated success in prospecting, cultivation, and solicitation of gifts. Specific experience and knowledge in the areas of management, major donor funding, donor cultivation event, special events, membership systems, annual giving programs, campaign management, corporate support programs, foundation funding, and planned giving.  Public television experience preferred. Excellent oral and written communications skills.  Basic accounting skills. Participates in corporate planning and financial forecasting.

Producer, On-Air Fundraising & Marketing
 
WPBT2 is looking for an organized and driven individual to coordinate and execute all production for quarterly live television fundraising campaigns and ongoing promotional interstitials and initiatives throughout the year. This includes writing scripts and editing footage as needed, coordinating hosts for live appeals, conducting research and making all studio and travel arrangements necessary. Helps conceptualize and executes ancillary fundraising productions/campaigns to generate increased viewership and revenue.  Assists in the development and execution of special events.  Works with supervisor to determine and maintain budgets.
    
College degree with major coursework in field of mass communications, journalism, the arts or equivalent experience.  Three to five years of experience as a television producer or associate producer.  Working knowledge of linear and non-linear video editing and computer skills.  Script writing experience a must.  Knowledge of production within a fundraising environment a plus.  Must be a multitasker.

South Florida PBS is looking for an individual to lead the accounting team.  Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer and responsible for overseeing the operation of the accounting department to ensure efficient and cost-effective accounting operations with strong internal controls.  Will manage the accuracy and productivity of the day-to-day operations of accounts payable/receivable, payroll, fixed asset records and general accounting.  Coordinates annual audit, monitors cash balances and cash forecasts.  Assists the Chief Administrative Officer with the development of the annual operating budget and financial plan, the capital budget and periodic forecasts. Acts as the primary administrator for the accounting system, ensuring the staff receives the appropriate training and that the software is fully utilized. 
                      
Minimum of five years of experience in a management role and ten years of direct experience, ideally with broad experience in financial management, including accounting operations, GAAP, budgeting and performance monitoring, capital deployment and expenditures, investment/endowment management, treasury and cash management and compliance.  Solid understanding of non-profit accounting, private and government grant accounting and finance systems and related subjects.   Experience working with senior management team. Ability to work collaboratively with SFPBS’s department heads.
 
Excellent management skills; ability to manage processes and influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  Excellent communication skills. Technical accounting skills and financial software expertise.    
 
This position will primarily work out of our WXEL offices located in Boynton Beach, FL.

Freelance Account Executive

South Florida PBS seeks experienced Account Executive to sell national PR services such as corporate video productions, media relations support, radio services, online and all media distribution to support PR firms and Corporate Communications. Knowledge of news production, B-roll distribution, Satellite Media Tours, will be extremely helpful for this position to be successful. Position collaborates within the sales team, and provides sound counsel and recommendations to clients. You will offer PR services to help drive solutions for clients, and revenue for the company.

The candidate will be responsible for reaching out and making capabilities presentations to PR firms and companies who will use our services. You are a closer of business, and will be responsible for reaching sales targets and goals each month.

The successful candidate is entrepreneurial, resourceful, tenacious, and has a strong understanding of traditional and non-traditional PR tactics and the media landscape; 3-6 years in PR agency experience with clients preferred. We are looking for a candidate with:
• Sales experience with a good consultative selling style;
• Proven success in building relationships and driving sales results;
• Strong presentation skills, with experience working directly with clients and actively participating in client meetings;
• Collaborative spirit, results driven with the ability to manage multiple priorities;
• High energy.

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

South Florida PBS provides students with an opportunity to combine work experience and professional development to enhance their formal education. Our program serves to reinforce and strengthen the students' personal values and career objectives through an improved understanding of themselves and the work environment. We provide practical work experience to balance the students' theoretical training and allow students to meet and learn from professionals in the field and develop a network of contacts. To be considered for an internship students must be enrolled in college/university in which their coursework requires internship hours.
