South Florida PBS Announces March 2026 Premieres Celebrating Women’s History Month, Music Legends, Masterpiece Dramas, and Immersive Experiences

 

Miami, FL-South Florida PBS (WPBT, WXEL and the Health Channel) proudly announces its March schedule of premieres, featuring compelling documentaries, award-wining performances, immersive experiences, family programming and essential science and health content. 

This month's lineup highlights Women's History Month with inspiring programs that celebrate trailblazers across generations. 

Leading the celebration is She Was First, a six-part series hosted by Soledad O'Brien honoring women in the arts. Created by the late Felicia Taylor, whose passion for elevating women's stories made the series possible, the program shines a light on groundbreaking female artists and cultural leaders. 

Viewers can also enjoy iconic music specials, including Barbra Streisand: Timeless, and Barry Manilow Live by Request. This month also features new seasons of binge-worthy dramas including Count of Monte Cristo, Call the Midwife, and Forsytes on MASTERPIECE, along with captivating historical, cultural, and science programming.

Downton Abbey returns to PBS with a month-long marathon- the perfect opportunity to catch up on missed episodes relive your favorite moments or discover the series for the first time.

    Explores the lives of Fannie Lou Hamer, Angela Davis, Dolores Huerta, and Yuri Kochiyama.
  • American Masters: Bella! This Woman’s Place Is in the House

 Follows firebrand politician Bella Abzug.

  • Antiques Roadshow: Women’s Work
     March 18 at 2 PM on WPBT; March 20 at 10 PM on WXEL
     Celebrates trailblazing women and their lasting impact.

    Hosted by Soledad O’Brien, profiling pioneering women in the arts, including Misty Copeland and Ruth E. Carter.
  • Independent Lens – Keep Quiet and Forgive

     Shares the story of an Amish sexual assault survivor sparking a movement for justice.

Rooted in Florida, a monthly YouTube series, offers practical gardening tips tailored to South Florida’s climate. Hosted by UF/IFAS Master Gardener Jeannie Schmidle, new episodes premiere monthly on the South Florida PBS YouTube channel.

KidVision introduces Adventures in Space, a new series! Join Miss Penny and the KidVision Kids as they blast off to learn about space, gravity, and how astronauts live beyond Earth. Filmed at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, this exciting first mission introduces big space ideas in a simple and engaging way for young explorers.

And just in time for St. Patrick’s Day, tune in to Dance Time this month for Irish dancing fun!

Join the KidVision team at the Third Annual Visit Lauderdale Science Festival at the Museum of Discovery and Science on Saturday, March 7, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Then, join us at Nova Southeastern University in Davie on Sunday, March 8, at 9:30 AM for the 2026 American Heart Association Broward Heart Walk.

South Florida PBS has partnered with Flora Miami to host a special screening of American Experience: The Swamp on Saturday, March 21, at 6:30 PM. The episode explores invasive plants and native South Florida plant life. Guests will enjoy a reception, learn about gardening, and engage in meaningful conversation.
