Miami, FL— In keeping up with the multi-lingual needs of the diverse communities throughout the nation, South Florida PBS (WPBT & WXEL) is excited to announce that KidVision Pre-K professional development materials are available in English and SPANISH.
“KidVision Pre-K strives to help the early childhood community prepare children for kindergarten by providing professional development to Pre-K teachers using education standards which prepare children for a successful start to kindergarten. The program further strengthens their skills by providing hands-on activities to do in the classroom and at home. With the KidVision PreK program available in both languages more children will be prepared to walk into kindergarten armed with the tools they need to succeed,” stated Penny Bernath, a/k/a Miss Penny, Director of Education for South Florida PBS.
KidVision Pre-K is an online professional development for pre-school teachers based on virtual field trips for preschool children guided by Miss Penny. These virtual field trips can be used in classrooms and at home to teach children about science, history, visual and performing arts, professions, and the South Florida communities. The 100 field trips videos, 100 instructional videos and all learning materials: lesson plans, student assessments, and take-home pages for 1, 2, 3, and 4-year-olds are now available in English and Spanish.
All the above is FREE for teachers and parents. Additionally, teachers can join the KidVision Teacher Association to earn their in-service hours and CEUs for the low price of $40/year. They now have the choice of taking the training in either English or Spanish. The Spanish option will help many teachers who are more fluent in Spanish understand and use the program efficiently.
