Miami, FL – South Florida PBS (WPBT, WXEL, and Health Channel) is thrilled to bring our viewers a variety of new programs to celebrate the holiday season. Our most popular PBS dramas. Hotel Portofino, World on Fire and Annika are all back with new seasons with compelling storylines and must-see drama.

This month we are proud to present local productions Pictures at The Exhibition, a performance special by the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami and Fantastical Speculation: Selections from Third Horizon Festival, a series of local short films.

In November, we honor our veterans with programs such as Bob Dole, Italy and World War II, Two Wars: The Road to Integration, To Be of Service, and Salute to Services: A Veteran’s Day Celebration. South Florida PBS’ Health Channel is proud to present both Healing America’s Heroes - Preventing Veteran Suicide and Healing America’s Heroes - Women Veterans Health town halls.

COMMUNITY EVENTS:

On Friday, November 3rd, South Florida PBS will be hosting a fun event for the premiere of the latest KidVision PreK Virtual Field Trip at The Palm Beach Zoo. Kindergarten students from Glades Academy will be led through on an exciting KidVision premiere event featuring Miss Penny, a special reading of Good Night Gorilla, exciting goodie bags, and a fun scavenger hunt across the zoo!

Join South Florida PBS at the Sun Sentinel PRIME Expo on Sunday, November 5th! Start your day at the Health Channel Brain Health Breakfast, featuring an exclusive screening of "Research Detectives: Finding Lost Memory" followed by an exciting panel discussion with a group of distinguished experts.

Participate in a variety of engaging seminars. From a Q & A session with Ann Bocock, the host of "Between the Covers," and the award-winning author, Robert Watson, to a delightful sangria gathering with Dr. Lia from "Sex Talk," or immerse yourself in the world of Menopause with Maryon Stewart, the pioneer of the Menopause Movement.

On Friday, November 10th the film-maker Flip the Script project hits the big screen with the premiere of the student films at Savor Cinema at 10AM.

Lastly, we hope you’ll stop by the South Florida PBS booth at the Miami Book Fair street fair on Friday, November 17th from 10am-7pm. With special STEAM performances by KidVision host Miss Penny at 10:30am and 12:30pm in the Children’s Alley. HEALTH CHANNEL:

The Health Channel's original production, Sex Talk with Dr. Lia, returns for a third season of enlightening discussions about all things related to sex and relationships. Hosted by the candid and fearless Dr. Lia, alongside her witty co-host Derek Latta, Season 3 delves into the enigmatic realms that many long to explore. From kink to consent, fantasy to function, intimacy to injury, no taboo topic is off-limits. Watch the season premiere on Tuesday, November 21st, at 10 PM on the Health Channel.
